AI LaTeX Academic Writing
Write research papers with AI assistance in a full LaTeX environment. PapersFlow compiles your documents, generates figures, syncs citations from your library, and diagnoses errors -- all in the browser.
PapersFlow's Compose environment gives you a full AI-assisted LaTeX editor in the browser: write with AI suggestions, auto-compile to PDF, generate figures and diagrams, sync your bibliography, and export publication-ready documents.
Writing a research paper means juggling a LaTeX editor, a reference manager, a figure generation tool, and maybe a separate AI assistant — all disconnected from each other. You copy BibTeX keys by hand, debug compilation errors by Googling cryptic log messages, and create figures in a completely separate workflow. The writing environment should know about your research, your citations, and your data. Instead, you spend half your 'writing time' on toolchain management.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to install LaTeX locally?
- No. PapersFlow compiles LaTeX server-side. You write in the browser and see the compiled PDF in real time. No TeX distribution, no package management, no PATH issues.
- How does bibliography sync work?
- Your PapersFlow library serves as your bibliography database. When you type \cite{}, you get auto-completions from your library. The .bib file is generated automatically and stays in sync. When you export, only the references you actually cited are included.
- Can I import an existing LaTeX project?
- Yes. Upload your .tex files, .bib file, and any assets (images, .sty files). PapersFlow will compile them and make the project available in Compose. You can then use AI assistance for editing and figure generation.
- How does this compare to Overleaf?
- Overleaf is an excellent collaborative LaTeX editor. PapersFlow Compose adds AI writing assistance, integrated research library, figure generation, and bibliography sync. For pure collaborative editing, Overleaf remains strong. For AI-assisted research writing, PapersFlow fills the gap. See our detailed comparison at /compare/overleaf.
